We booked a suite but were silently upgraded to a suite with terrace; it consisted of a large bedroom with two chairs and a huge, attached bathroom with an enclosed toilet/bidet and an enclosed shower. It also had a balcony, a closet with doors, and simple decor in a modern style. The buffet breakfast was excellent, and there's a charming pool in the back garden (that we didn't have time to use).

A Splash of Color and History in the Heart of Catalonia
The colorful and charming gem that is Girona is on the banks of where the Ter, Onyar, Galligants and Güell rivers meet. Girona is protected by fortifications and features a remarkable medieval center along with several fine Romanesque and Gothic buildings.
The province houses the ancient Arab Baths, the Girona Cathedral, and the lovely Girona Art Museum. Due to its mountainous terrain, Girona is also a popular destination for cycling enthusiasts, and theater lovers can enjoy a performance at the Auditorium Jardins del Castell.
Girona has a lively nightlife and offers a wide variety of bars, restaurants and cafés serving anything from local Basque and Catalan delicacies to traditional tapas and an array of international cuisines.
Other popular landmarks to see are the 14th-century Sant Feliu, the historical fortifications, the 11th-century Monastery of San Daniel, and the characteristic Girona Bridge.
Girona Train station offers direct connections to bustling Barcelona and the picturesque town of Portbou. Booking.com offers a wide range of accommodation options and deals in Girona and around Catalonia.
Girona is a small charming town with lots to see. It is also a great base for going around to several nearby places like Figueres, Besalu, Lloret de Mar, Platja de Aro etc. if you want to use the public transport. The annual "temps de flors" - a flower festival in May - is a very interesting time to be there. It is a hilly town, so some parts can be difficult to explore for people with limited mobility, without assistance.

We had a great time exploring Girona - the medieval cathedral, basilica, city walls, Arab baths and alleyways; the Eiffel bridge and others and seeing the architecture along the river. Lots of lovely restaurants with good Spanish food - very reasonably price for food and drink. 3 days was maybe a bit long as it's a small city with everything accessible on foot. Should maybe have visited Figueres or the coast as well. Would advise not to go during the flower festival in May - far too busy and some of the plastic flowers ruined the sites (eg. plastic apple trees on steps of 'Game of Thrones' scene)!

Girona is an amazing city with the best of the Catalan culture and lifestyle on offer, with the old town being a highlight. Prices eating out are reasonable and food is amazing. It is a mecca for cyclists with pro cyclists residing in the area. Amazing place...

Beautiful city full of life and amazing food!
Beautiful city full of life and amazing food! We loved strolling the streets finding new corners and hidden places. If you come here, go to Xibarri. They have the best burgers and desserts! It is not a typical tourist city. That is what we love about it the most.

Loved it all.
Loved it all. Food and drink by the river, walking on the walls, the Jewish quarter, its manageable size. Hotel in exactly the easiest position near the town centre and the station and bus station. We used both.

Fantastic place for a cycling holiday.
Fantastic place for a cycling holiday. So many other cyclists, cafes and bike shops make it feel like it was made for cyclists. Roads are buttery smooth and once you get out of town there is very little traffic. So many different scenic routes to choose from.
The hotel receptionist was extremely helpful. She allowed us to check in early which was great. The complimentary half bottle of Cava was a nice touch too. Breakfast was very good value with a large selection of all the usual items. The atmosphere in the hotel is very relaxed, the boutique feel of the place makes it a lovely change from the usual larger hotel chains. Having their own parking in the centre of the old town was a real bonus.
We resolved to go back again soon as on this occasion we had only one night in Girona.
The location was perfect, and the staff was really helpful (Victor was the best host/introduction we experienced in our entire trip throughout Spain).
The apartment was spacious, well stocked, and in a great location for cycling and seeing the key sites around the older part of Girona. Nice views of the city/street on one side of the apartment (small 2nd story deck on the street side with cathederal view) and one of the bedrooms also had a view of the river and red bridge.
everything is so amazing for price of hotel. it is spotless clean. also staff is so friendly and kind. hotel is close to old town almost 5 minutes by walking. there are lot of restaurant around hotel. we got good guidelance from staff on private parking. we paid 10 € for parking area thanks to hotel. normal price is 24€ for one night. we did not get breakfast but some cafeteria to buy something for breakfast is so close and cheaper.
This hotel is in the best part of town, with such great walking streets full of shops and restaurants. The owners of the hotel were lovely and accommodating. The breakfast was great, try the fresh juice!!! They even stored our luggage for free the entire day while we went to Figueres. Beautiful, quiet, clean and the best bed we had in Spain! Don't walk, run to this beautiful oasis!
I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Historic in Girona Spain. The hotel is family-run and provides fantastic service. The room was huge and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. The owner was very kind and even gave us a lift to the Girona Stadium for a football game together with his son. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Girona.
The location was great! It was nice to see lots happening in the hotel, there was a fitness facility, restaurant, and a bar for drinks and a casual breakfast with delicious coffee and croissants. There were directions for recycling items from traveling and packaging from shopping. The staff behind the front desk and at the bar were exceptional.
It would be difficult to find a better location in Gerona’s old town. The studio is simply furnished but adequate for a solo traveller’s stay. Very clean, good lighting and efficient Wi-Fi An easy walk from the bus and train stations, following the overhead railway..
A big thank you to the Bravissimo team for letting me check in an hour early.
We loved the roof terrace & the staff there & throughout the hotel were lovely. We had a huge room & bathroom & the hotel was in a prime position next to the old town. Toiletries were wonderful (body lotion on tap) & when we requested a kettle it was in our room immediately! Breakfast was great with lots of variety!
Nice, modern hotel only a very short walk from the Old Town and a 10 minute cab ride from the station. The (upgrade) room was spacious and clean, nice bathroom and everything worked! Breakfast was very good too. The staff all spoke English and were very pleasant and helpful. A good choice.
I can't recommend this spot more! A beautiful hidden gem in the hustle and bustle of Girona, just a street away from the river and in the heart of the old city. Wonderfully and artfully decorated, with the best shower in the whole of Spain! Friendly and helpful staff. 10/10!
Friendly reception staff, impressively multi-lingual. Very close to the station and a short walk to the old town. No breakfast but many cafes nearby. Hotel was clean and comfortable but basic - e.g. No reading light or bedside lamp . It was a very quiet internal room
Very nice hotel very close to the Old Town. Parking at hotel but a little difficult to get to. Very large comfortable room. Young man at front desk was very helpful. We were very surprised at how big and nice Old Town was for walking late on a Saturday night.
Exceptional experience in the old town. Very nice and friendly host. I highly recommend this small but very atmospheric hotel for everyone and will definitely come back when I'm visiting Girona again! Wonderful, thank you so much!
Super friendly staff that is available 24h. Parking is 2 minutes walk from the hotel (10 euros per night, Telpark offers electric charging for your car also if needed). The hotel is in walking distance of the old town.
Nice hotel. Outside of Old town, but within walking distance.
Nice views of the mountains and rest of Girona from the roof.
Free parking was a big plus! Bed was comfortable.
Would definitely stay here again.
The hotel is beautiful, rooms comfortable, and location can’t be beat. The very best part was all of the lovely people working there. Each person we encountered was so helpful, accommodating, and kind.
It was clean, modern and a great location about a 10 minute walk to the old town at steady pace. The hotel staff upgraded our room as courtesy. Which was very much appreciated.
